What was the highlight of The Killeshin Hotel Portlaoise
Friendly efficient front of house staff, comfortable and quiet rooms, short walk to town.
Even though the hotel was very busy with small conferences and ocassions, the rooms were quiet and comfortable. Greeting at the desk was efficient and very friendly even with everything going on!
The breakfast experiance was a bit below par. Staff came and went. Trying to catch their eye was an excercise in jumping out of your chair. Asked a couple of times for coffee and menu which eventually appreared. They looked a bit jaded to be fair, might have been to do with the overabundance of young families :) Food was good however. Coffee was.... filter coffee from a pot standing for a long period of time.

Would Recommend to friends and family.
We were very active guests in the late hours and we were very quiet about it. There was no problem with this nd it was like we weren't even passing through the lobby. The staff were very accommodating and polite.
Breakfast times were strict as there is alot of conferences held at this hotel. Although breakfast service is until 10am by 9:30 the staff were rearranging the restaurant while we were still eating. It was loud and made it uncomfortable to relax while eating breakfast.

It was a pleasant stay
The staff was very attentive and there was a good variety of Gluten free product to chose from that was good.
The Double bed was put together by using two single bed. It give a gap in the middle but it was a very good mattress. Maybe you should consider putting a extra form mattress on top to create that seamless feeling sleeping on a two single bed together. In the bedroom there was lack of information of what is available in the hotel like the restaurant menu.
